Using 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive, 3M™ Elipar™ DeepCure-S LED Curing Light, 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative and 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing System.
Patient came with a stained and failing composite restoration on the mesial incisal edge of tooth #9 (or 21), she also complained of the small black triangle space that was evident when the teeth are dry. The initial placement was done due to trauma. The treatment plan consisted of a Class 4 on tooth #9 (or 21) and MLF on tooth #8 (or 11) direct bonded composites.
The restorations were completed using total etch procedure, 3M™ Scotchbond ™ Universal Plus Adhesive and 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative shades WE, WB. Polishing was completed using 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing system and Cosmedent Medium sanded disc and felt disc with enamelize.
Initial presentation of the failing class 4 restoration on tooth #9 (or 21) and small black triangle space.
The previous restoration on tooth #9 (or 21) was completely removed, and a long bevel margin was created.
After isolation using mylar strip, enamel was etched using 37% phosphoric acid gel for 10 seconds, then rinsed and air dried.
Pre-treatment with HF, rinse with water, 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive was applied and agitated for 20 seconds, then air-dried until adhesive stops moving.
3M™ Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive was light cured with a 3M™ Elipar™ DeepCure-S LED Curing Light for 10 seconds.
Incisal edge matrix was placed and 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative shades WE and WB were applied following the product IFU.
After both teeth were restored, a fine flame diamond bur was used for initial primary contouring.
Polishing using beige 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Pre-Polishing Spirals (Beige) under water spray.
Final polishing using 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing Spirals (Pink).
Final aspect of completed restoration on teeth #8 (or 11) and #9 (or 21).
